The first half began with Tacoma's
Andrew Wagenblatt making a crucial save in the 27th minute, denying Clark's Hulises Najera a scoring opportunity. Tacoma's offense, led by
Taylor Duffek and
Noah Blake-Mathur, generated chances but was unable to find the net, with Duffek's effort saved by Clark's goalkeeper Patrick Murphy early in the half. Despite several fouls committed by both teams, the half ended scoreless with a yellow card issued to Duffek at the whistle.
