Titans fight back after losing first set to win 3-1
TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma Community College (15-12, 2-2) defeated Green River College (6-10, 0-4) with a 3-1 victory on Thursday night, winning by scores of 20-25, 25-17, 27-25, and 25-14. The Titans' fourth-set attack percentage of .500 proved pivotal in securing the win.
Emilia Linden led the Tacoma attack with 15 kills and contributed 18 total points. Leilah Lemalu added to the offensive effort with 18 kills and 19 points, maintaining a hitting percentage of .333. Kylee Harris facilitated the offense by recording 41 assists and supported the defense with eight digs. Kelli English was a key defensive presence, tallying 24 digs over four sets.
Kristen Carstens led the Gators with 15.0 points, registering 12 kills on 35 attempts with a .229 hitting percentage. Kay Magee contributed significantly with 9 kills and a team-high 12 digs, also adding 2 total blocks. Tanzy Fox displayed strong setting skills with 19 assists and contributed 3 service aces, rounding out her performance with 12 digs.
Tacoma holds a 15-12 overall record and is 2-2 in conference play. Green River stands at 6-10 overall with a 0-4 record in conference play.
