While at TCC Mike hit .382 with 15 homeruns. He set the school record for doubles and total hits during his two years as a Titan, making 1st team All-League and 1st team All-State in 1985.

After his time at TCC, Blowers transferred to the University of Washington where he played just one season, but was named 1st team All-Pac-10 Northern Division shortstop and won the Pac-10 Northern Division Triple Crown, leading the division in batting average (.383), homeruns (16) and RBI (59).

His professional career began in 1986 when he was drafted by the Montreal Expos. Blowers spent three seasons in the Expos’ farm system before being traded to the New York Yankees in 1989. His first Major League start was against the Mariners on Sept. 5, 1989. He was obtained by Seattle in a trade with the Yankees in May of 1991. In all, he did three tours with the Mariners – 1992-95, 1997 and 1999.
