Titans Fall In The NWAC Semifinal
TUKWILA, Wash. — Tacoma Community College (16-2-4, 12-0-2) was defeated 3-0 by Spokane Community College (13-1-1, 10-1-1) on Friday in the NWAC Championship Semifinal. This match marked the end of the season for TCC, as they were eliminated in the Final Four. Spokane scored all three goals in the second half to secure the victory.
The first half concluded scoreless between TCC and Spokane. TCC managed four shot attempts, with Aleigha Woodland and Laura Corr both shooting wide, while Amelia Recardo's effort was saved by Spokane's goalkeeper Danika Curtis. Spokane struggled with discipline, committing six fouls and earning three corner kicks without converting. Both teams entered halftime with a 0-0 tie.
The second half saw Spokane capitalize on offensive opportunities, with Mia Miconi scoring twice in the 71st and 76th minutes, building a decisive lead. TCC struggled to convert their six shots on goal, with Melanie Rojas-Perez and Madison Coulter both being denied by Spokane's goalkeeper, Danika Curtis. Despite TCC's efforts and a series of fouls committed by Spokane, the match concluded with a 3-0 advantage for the home team.
Corr led TCC with three shots, including one on target, showcasing her offensive efforts. Rojas-Perez matched Corr's shot count, also putting one of her attempts on goal. Sarah Stochel, in goal, recorded two saves despite conceding three times, facing five shots on target.
Miconi led Spokane with two goals, including the game-winner, from five shots on target out of six attempts. Cora Murray contributed with a goal from her sole shot, demonstrating efficiency in front of the net. Addie Reidt provided the team's only assist, supporting Spokane's offensive efforts. In goal, Curtis recorded a clean sheet, making four saves across 90 minutes to secure the victory.
TCC holds an overall record of 16-2-4 and a conference record of 12-0-2. Spokane stands at 13-1-1 overall with a conference record of 10-1-1.
