Strong Shooting Not Enough As Tacoma CC Loses 82-69
TACOMA, Wash. — In a hard-fought battle on home court, Tacoma Community College came up short against Green River, ending the night with a 82-69 defeat. Even so, TCC showed some sharp shooting from beyond the arc, hitting 9 of their 22 attempts for a solid 40.9%.
Green River jumped out to an early lead with sharp scoring and strategic plays. Taylor Feroah kicked things off with an early layup, assisted by Bryton Valdes, putting Green River on the board. Tacoma's Samuel Taylor answered back with a layup, but Green River's Chase Degraffenried led a scoring surge, nailing multiple three-pointers and free throws to stretch their lead to 18 points. As the half wound down, Tacoma's Jakoi Lide sparked a rally with a three-pointer and three free throws, yet Green River held a 43-33 edge at halftime.
The second half saw Green River maintain control, ultimately securing a decisive 82-69 victory. Degraffenried continued to lead the charge with a layup and a timely three-pointer, helping Green River extend their lead. Tacoma fought to close the gap with Donovan Gill's three-pointer and Hayden Kee's long-range shot, but Green River's consistent scoring and strong defense sealed the win.
