TCC Battles Hard but Loses to Centralia
TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma fell to Centralia, 82-66, on Saturday afternoon. Tacoma managed 40 points in the paint, but Centralia's lead reached 20 points in the second half.
The game opened with Centralia taking an early lead after a jumper by Luke Brewer at 18:54. Tacoma responded with a 13-2 run, highlighted by Denali Hatcher's layup at 16:09, establishing their largest lead at nine points. Centralia fought back with a 9-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Andrew Collins at 6:40, to regain the advantage. Shay Brannon's layup at the 2:00 mark extended Centralia's lead, and they maintained momentum to conclude the first half 40-33 ahead of TCC.
Centralia maintained control in the second half, extending their lead to 20 points at the 8:29 mark. TCC struggled to keep pace, despite Jakoi Lide's efforts, including a layup at 14:01 and another at 13:22. Centralia's Shay Brannon was instrumental, scoring multiple times in the paint and adding free throws to cap his performance. A late 3-pointer by Henry Benninghoven at 1:53 was not enough to close the gap, as Centralia secured an 82-66 victory over TCC.
