TCC Falls To Skagit At Bellevue
BELLEVUE, Wash. — Tacoma fell to Skagit Valley 93-63 on Friday, as Skagit Valley remained undefeated with their eighth consecutive victory. TCC struggled with turnovers, committing 17, while SVC capitalized with 21 points off those mistakes.
The game commenced with Skagit Valley's Treyshawn Weatherspoon scoring an early layup, setting the tone for the visitors. Tacoma's Dylan Wiggins quickly responded with a layup of his own at 17:58, assisted by Denali Hatcher, leveling the score. However, SVC surged ahead, capitalizing on multiple turnovers by TCC, highlighted by a three-pointer from Jerry Petty, Jr. at 8:50. Despite efforts from Tacoma's Jakoi Lide, who contributed several key layups, Skagit Valley extended their lead to 24 points by the 2:04 mark, with Malcolm Clark's layup closing the half with a score of 46-26 in favor of the visitors.
SVC extended its lead in the second half, starting with a dunk by Malcolm Clark at 17:57, assisted by Treyshawn Weatherspoon. TCC's Dylan Wiggins responded with a three-pointer at 16:18, but Skagit Valley maintained control with consecutive layups by Clark. A pivotal moment came at 11:20 when Eli Trichler hit a three-pointer, assisted by Weatherspoon, pushing the lead to 69-35. Although Tacoma's Landen Glodowski hit a three-pointer at 1:36, SVC comfortably secured the half, outscoring Tacoma 47-37.
