Ethan Mar and Vaughn Lowe Lead TCC to Victory
TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma secured a 6–4 victory over Clark on Thursday, capitalizing on four doubles and five walks to maintain their lead throughout the game. Tacoma's pitching staff allowed four runs on ten hits but effectively shut down Clark's offense in the final two innings to seal the win.
Clark opened the scoring in the second inning with DJ Ringenbach's RBI single bringing in Kobin Mullins to give Clark a 1–0 lead. The score was 1–0 in favor of Clark by the end of the second inning.
Tacoma responded in the third inning with a series of strong hits. Ethan Mar doubled and Vaughn Lowe followed with an RBI double to bring Mar home. Later in the inning, Nate Kimmel doubled, driving in Lowe and Ty Iddon to put Tacoma ahead 3–2 through three innings.
In the fourth inning, Clark equalized briefly with an RBI double by Caden Taylor. Tacoma regained the lead as Elijah McNair-Neal scored on a groundout by Lowe, making it 4–3 after four innings.
Tacoma extended its lead in the sixth inning. A pair of runs scored on Carson Ackermann's double, which brought home Kaden Cretti and McNair-Neal, increasing Tacoma's lead to 6–3.
Clark narrowed the gap in the seventh inning with an RBI double by Kaedon Cruse, but Tacoma's defense held the line to maintain a 6–4 advantage.
The game concluded with Tacoma securing a 6–4 victory over Clark.
