TCC Struggles Offensively in Loss to Pierce College
FORT STEILACOOM, Wash. — Tacoma Community College (9-10, 3-3) fell to Pierce College (11-17, 1-5) in a decisive 10-0 loss on Saturday at Fort Steilacoom Park. TCC managed only four hits and committed two errors, while Pierce scored in five different innings, totaling 14 hits.
Pierce took control early with a strong first inning. Nariyuki Dumlao singled and advanced on a wild pitch, eventually scoring on Tristan Ringrose's RBI single. Andrew Dyk and Jackson Copeland followed with RBI hits, putting Pierce ahead 3-0 after one inning.
In the third inning, Pierce extended its lead. Kai Halstead scored on Jeb English's RBI single, and Jackson Copeland crossed the plate on Christian Dominno's single, making it 5-0 through three innings.
TCC's defense held Pierce scoreless in the fourth, but the fifth inning saw Pierce add to its lead. Andrew Dyk's double set up a scoring opportunity, and RBI hits from Jeb English and Christian Dominno pushed the advantage to 8-0 after five innings.
Pierce added a run in the seventh when Jackson Copeland scored on a play involving a fielding error, increasing the lead to 9-0.
The eighth inning saw Pierce score once more. Bradley Carl doubled and later scored unearned after stealing third and capitalizing on a catching error, finalizing the score at 10-0.
Pierce secured a 10-0 victory over TCC.
