Nate Jetton Highlights TCC Offense in Loss
LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Tacoma Community College (5-4) fell to Edmonds College (9-5) with a final score of 3-0 on Saturday at Triton Field. TCC managed only three hits while Edmonds capitalized with a home run and two doubles to secure the victory.
Tacoma faced off against Edmonds, with both teams remaining scoreless through the first three innings. Vaughn Lowe singled in the fourth, but TCC couldn't capitalize, grounding into a double play. Edmonds took the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Kaden Ecklund homered, making it 1-0 after four innings.
In the sixth inning, Carsen Mann singled and advanced to third before Kaden Ecklund doubled, bringing Mann home to extend Edmonds' lead to 2-0 through six innings. Tacoma's Nate Kimmel singled in the eighth, but the team was unable to bring him around to score. Edmonds added another run in their half of the eighth inning when Ecklund scored on a sacrifice fly, increasing their lead to 3-0 through eight innings.
TCC failed to score in the ninth, resulting in a 3-0 final score in favor of Edmonds.
Butch Kiblen delivered a solid performance on the mound for Tacoma, pitching 6 2/3 innings and allowing only two earned runs. He faced 28 batters, giving up six hits, including a home run, while issuing no walks and striking out two. Kiblen's control was notable, as he managed a WHIP of 0.97, despite a balk and hitting two batters. Reece Boekenoogen came in as relief, pitching 1 1/3 innings, allowing one earned run without conceding a hit, but issued two hit by pitches, maintaining a WHIP of 0.00.
