TCC Secures Victory With Strong Defensive Performance
TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma edged Bellevue in a tight 2-1 victory on Saturday, securing the win with a decisive two-run sixth inning. Tacoma managed just two hits but capitalized on Bellevue's three errors to clinch the game.
Tacoma secured a narrow victory over Bellevue with a final score of 2-1.
In the sixth inning, Bellevue took the lead when T. Holden scored on a single by C. Kennelly, making it 1-0. However, TCC responded in the bottom half. Kaden Cretti walked and eventually scored on a passed ball, tying the game. Braden Jones followed with a single and, after stealing second, scored on an RBI double from Ethan Mar. Tacoma led 2-1 after six innings.
Tacoma's defense held strong in the seventh inning. Reece Boekenoogen came in to pitch, allowing one hit and striking out two, sealing TCC's 2-1 win over Bellevue.
Butch Kiblen pitched 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits while issuing 1 walk and striking out 2 batters. Kiblen faced 25 batters and maintained a WHIP of 1.00, throwing 82 pitches with 54 strikes. Reece Boekenoogen came in as a reliever and pitched 1 inning, giving up 1 hit and hitting a batter, but managed to strike out 2 hitters with no runs allowed, maintaining a WHIP of 1.00 over his 33 pitches.
