Bio
Michael Hallburn serves as the Fitness Center Coordinator at Tacoma Community College, a position he has held since November 2025. In this role, he manages the Fitness Center, fostering campus engagement with the facility, and supports athletic teams as a strength and conditioning resource.
Before joining Tacoma Community College, Michael was a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Holistic Health and Fitness Program with the Army at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). His career in coaching spans nearly a decade, encompassing roles in personal training, youth, high school, and college athletics, as well as military strength and conditioning.
Michael earned a Bachelor's of Arts in History from California State University, Long Beach, and is pursuing a Master's in Performance Coaching at Setanta College. His athletic journey includes a 24-year career in track and field, which saw him compete at Riverside City College and Long Beach State at the Division I level, continuing on to compete in master's competitions.
Outside of his professional life, Michael enjoys hiking, photography, travel, and learning for the sake of learning.
