Kevin Riches, Long Time Athletic Trainer, Retires After 37 Years
Kevin Riches, the Athletic Trainer for Tacoma Community College Athletics, will retire in June 2026 after 37 years of dedicated service to the institution. Throughout his tenure, Kevin has been instrumental in the success and development of the athletics program and its student-athletes.
Kevin's remarkable career at Tacoma Community College includes his involvement in over 3,000 victories, participation in more than 100 post-season runs, and the achievement of 26 Region Championships and 11 NWAC Championships. His influence extended beyond athletics, as he also contributed to the academic and personal growth of thousands of student-athletes, helping them to excel both on and off the field.
In addition to his role as an athletic trainer, Kevin taught physical education for many years at TCC.
A farewell event was held to honor Kevin's contributions, where the Athletics Department, alongside Kevin's family, celebrated his career during a Rainiers game. Kevin and his wife plan to relocate to be closer to family following his retirement.
Kevin's unwavering dedication, compassion, and work ethic have made him a cornerstone of Titan Athletics and a mentor to many within the community. Tacoma Community College extends its deepest appreciation to Kevin Riches for his years of service and wishes him all the best as he embarks on this new chapter.
